Biography
Celene, a Graduate of the University of Saskatchewan (B.A. Juris. Doc.) grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She moved to Lloydminster in 1989 to start her career as a lawyer and has been here ever since. While Celene has practiced in all areas of law, her more recent focus has been in the area of Family Law. In order to provide a variety of opportunities and solutions for her clients, Celene is trained in Collaborative Law, Mediation and Arbitration. She is able to use those skills in all areas of law, not just family law. She has also taken several courses in dispute resolution, communication and high conflict resolution.
A strong advocate for her clients, Celene has also brought to the Lloydminster community legal resources including PASS, and more recently Duty Counsel in Family Court and soon, free legal clinics.
Celene has not only worked within the legal community but also in the Lloydminster community as a volunteer with a variety of organizations, including Early Childhood Development, Big Brothers and Sisters, Rotary Club of Lloydminster, Crisis Line of Lloydminster, Meals on Wheels, Lloydminster Health District Gala, Lloydminster Riptides, and Lloydminster Minor Hockey. Volunteering and being part of the community to give back has always been an important part of Celene’s life. Most recently this has included a more international flavor. In 2016 Celene traveled to Bali and scraped mold off walls for a school restoration project. In 2018, she, through Change for Children, went on a locally led Dental Brigade to Guatemala.
When Celene is not volunteering or at work, she spends her time with her family. In the summer months Celene is in the garden, on the golf course or riding her motorcycle. In the winter she enjoys time downhill skiing, reading, yoga and trying new recipes. As a passionate traveler, Celene is always looking for new adventures and sights to see. Experiencing new things (zip lining, stand up paddle….) and learning something new is part of the fun.
It is this sense of duty to the community, her clients and a zest for living that Celene brings to all of her files. She strives to find the unique solution in the most efficient method for all of her clients. No file is too big or too small. Celene works individually with each client for their own unique resolution, taking time to ensure the client understands the law, the processes that occur. Celene and the client work as a team. The skills Celene has acquired over the past 30 years in law, through her community involvement and as a parent to two boys, allows Celene to have a personal unique approach to clients during challenging times in their lives. Offering full retainer and unbundled legal services, Celene strives to find the right method and solution for her clients.
